Training Opportunities
Member laboratories of the Center for Hearing and Balance work on topics ranging from molecular biology of sensory development and differentiation, to behavioral and clinical studies of normal and disrupted function. Students from doctoral and masters programs in the Schools of Medicine, Engineering, and Arts and Sciences are welcome to pursue their theses in Center laboratories. Postdoctoral fellows apply to individual labs according to their career goals. Undergraduate students are welcome to contact Center laboratories if interested in obtaining academic credit for research.
The Center holds a T32 training grant from the National Institute for Deafness and other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) that provides support for several pre-docs and post-docs (US citizens or green card holders). Postdoctoral candidates give a research seminar and are interviewed by several Center faculty. Predoctoral trainees of member labs are eligible for the next open slot. Residents in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery interested in a Center lab can apply for 2 years of research support from a T32 training grant from NIDCD held by the Oto-HNS department (US Citizens or green card holders).
